What is a Doula?
A non-medical professional labor assistant who provides physical and emotional support to you and your partner during pregnancy,
childbirth and the postpartum period.
Benefits to have a Doula? To empower. To Advocate. To Educate. The Doula provides continuous support outside and in between the OB and Midwife visits. Evidence has shown that mother’s that hire a doula for their birth support increases the likely for healthy outcomes for both mother and baby and has a clinically meaningful impact on anxiety and pain levels in the mother, especially first time mothers.
